Allow me to introduce myself, my name, as you can see from the name of this site, is Bam Azizi, I’m form Toronto and have been in the web business since 1999. This is the 350th project I have done.
I come from a diverse education and practical background. I first started studying business management at U of T, when I realized my education had no substance or tangibles I switched to Ontario College of Arts & Design and graduated in the field of communication design and branding. I never stopped learning business though; in fact the more I learned about design the more I realized the true potentials of business success if we all paid a bit more attention to details and strategy. Let me challenge you with couple of questions so that I could get my point across, Name ONE thing in this world that is NOT designed? Name another thing that is NOT associated with Business? You can’t come up with any answers, can you!
Design and Business work hand in hand; their partnership is based on creative thinking and strategic execution, struggle in one of the two areas and you’ll see your entire enterprise is struggling. The secret to success is to establish a balance and true harmony between the two. This is basically the topic of this website, it is also what I do as my job as a part of my consulting work. Everything is design and strategy is everything so design is strategy and vice versa.
Hope to see you around more often,
Cheers!
Bam

Thanks for the insightful introduction to design and strategy! Looking forward to more of what you have to say.
Let me know if I can be of any help.
Cheers,
Ash
Hmm. A mountain isn't designed - not by humans, at least. Then again, you could argue that time and natural forces (or a higher power) designed it. In the broadest sense, you could argue that all things are designed - because all things are (or can be) affected.
The same goes for business.
Best wishes with this growing blog, Bam!
Easton, design has several meanings, some look at design as something humans do and some aruge nature by itself is another designer. i'm my opinion everything is designed simply because everything has some of the elements that make up the meaning of design. some of the most common elements are color, shape, size.
My primary point is now that we know everything is designed isn't it our responsibility to maintain high quality as designers, we design for all other humans, animals and nature therefore we should keep them at top priority!
Answer 1: Sex
Answer 2: Love between people
You can claim that people "design themselves" when they primp to attract someone for sex (or love), but that's stretching a LOT.
You can claim that people can "love" a product in business, but that's a different kind of love.
I'd prefer my $1,000 as a gift certificate to Apple, please. ;)
i'm not sure if sex and love are "things" but none the less... sex is a performance which is still designed, ex. sex moves and emotions like love, hate and etc though not objects are still designed, advertising has reinvented the current state love and feeling we experience today, i think anything that is persuaded by alternative movites is still designed, from a psychological point of view.
we strategically setup events, moves, feeling so that we can get the love results we want, all of which are elements of design. for example, when you fall in love with a gril there was whole lot of processes you went through all of which were designed by your mind. you took her to dinner, not just any restaurant but the one you specifically picked, you dressed to impress, you were enganged in several conversations, you tried to connect from different perspectives and etc....
$1000 is still up for grabs
